Hanaa Abdulaziz Al-Qasabi AIEP is a Senior Empowerment Trainer at Maximus Gulf, based in Dammam, who recently completed the IEP Award in Employability Essentials – an accredited eLearning programme developed for practitioners working in the Gulf’s Employability Sector.
We caught up with Hanaa to hear how she found the experience and what difference it has made to her day-to-day work as a trainer.

What did you think about the IEP Award in Employability Essentials e-Learning programme?
I liked the programme, and I think it would be beneficial if it were introduced at the beginning of training programmes due to the richness of its content.
What is one useful thing you learned?
How to work professionally with different employment groups, and to recognise and pay attention to employment barriers.
What is one thing you now do differently in your job because of the programme?
I now focus in my training courses on identifying employment barriers and how to overcome them.
Is there any other way the programme helped you in your work?
Having the material available as a PDF file is very helpful for referring back to it as an archive.
Was there a module or topic that was especially useful for you? What did you learn from it?
Yes, the training skills development module was especially useful. I learned structured strategies before entering the job market – from creating a CV and how it leads to getting an interview, to handling interviews and progressing to securing a job. It also covered work ethics, labour law, and disclosure.
Thank you for this valuable and inspiring programme, and thank you for providing the opportunity to gain knowledge that aligns with our current work.
