Social Recruitment: How the IEP Can Help
Helping providers and employers turn social recruitment into real opportunities.
As the professional institute for the Employability sector, the IEP supports collaboration between employers, providers and regional stakeholders to improve employment outcomes. We help organisations understand the Social Recruitment Framework, connect with the right people, and explore how this approach can work in their area.
Why this matters
There are already 30,000 vacancies identified for 2026, all offering guaranteed interviews, with many employers also adapting their recruitment processes to be more inclusive.
This creates a significant opportunity for providers and regional partners to:
- Connect participants directly to live vacancies
- Work with employers who are actively changing how they recruit
- Improve job outcomes through a more inclusive, coordinated approach
What is the Social Recruitment Covenant?
The Social Recruitment Covenant is a commitment by employers and partners to make recruitment more inclusive and accessible. It supports employers to think differently about how they attract and assess talent, opening up opportunities for people who may otherwise be excluded by traditional recruitment processes.
By signing the Covenant, organisations show their commitment to creating fairer access to jobs and to working in partnership with others to widen opportunity.

The IEP’s role
The IEP’s role is to support the sector to engage with these opportunities in a practical way.
We can:
- Help organisations understand the Social Recruitment Framework
- Support organisations to access the Social Recruitment Framework through our delivery partners, including opportunities to engage with employers offering live vacancies
- Facilitate conversations that bring employers and delivery partners together
- Support shared approaches where organisations may benefit from collaborative engagement
Because of our role in the sector, we are well placed to help connect organisations with employers and partners involved in this work
