Book now for our IEP Partner Spotlight – Introducing AutonoMe
The Institute of Employability Professionals (IEP) is pleased to announce that AutonoMe has officially joined as a Corporate Affiliate Partner (CAP). This partnership represents another step forward in the IEP’s commitment to bringing together organisations that share our vision of creating meaningful employment opportunities for all.
Founded in 2015 by William Britton, AutonoMe emerged from a unique combination of SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) lecturing experience and video production expertise. The organisation has developed a specialised video-driven support service designed to help neurodiverse people and those with learning disabilities overcome employment barriers.
AutonoMe operates across the UK and has supported over 1,600 neurodiverse people and those with learning disabilities to achieve their employment aspirations through an innovative blend of human support and technology. Their comprehensive approach addresses key areas of independence and employability, including soft skills development, communication enhancement, and practical on-the-job task training.
“High-quality, innovative employment support that meets the needs and aspirations of neurodiverse people and those with learning disabilities is at the heart of everything we do,” said William Britton, Founder of AutonoMe.
“Experience shows us time and again that mission-aligned, integrated services deliver better employment outcomes for the people we serve. Joining the IEP as a Corporate Affiliate Partner will further our ability to broaden our network, better understand challenges the sector faces and elevate the voice of neurodiverse people and those with learning disabilities.”
Tailored Support for Real-World Success
What sets AutonoMe apart is its ability to create content to address the specific barriers people experience in their job roles. Whether it’s checking ID, pumping a bike tyre, or performing reception duties and customer service tasks, AutonoMe’s approach enables people to gain confidence in real-world work scenarios, regardless of their chosen role.
The organisation works holistically with employees, employers, providers, and other stakeholders to achieve sustainable employment outcomes. Notably, AutonoMe’s in-work employment support programme is fully funded through Access to Work, making their services accessible to those who need them most.
At the heart of AutonoMe’s service is the combination of the AutonoMe App and human support. The App provides individuals with access to nearly 200 step-by-step instructional videos and coping strategies. These resources support the development and progression of independence and employment skills, available 24/7 and delivered directly to participants whenever and wherever needed.
The App includes a progress tracking feature for participants to rate their development following each task. AutonoMe uses this data to monitor progress, celebrate successes, and further tailor support to each person’s specific needs.
