With just weeks to go until the IEP Networking Event in Cardiff on Wednesday, 14 May 2025, we are delighted to invite you to join us for an exciting afternoon and confirm the final speaker in what promises to be a compelling and thought-provoking event. Gareth Mathews FIEP, Director of Itec Training Solutions, will take the stage at the Principality Stadium to deliver a session focused on Jobs Growth Wales+ and Beyond: Preparing Young People for Tomorrow’s Workforce.
Gareth brings a wealth of experience and insight into the post-16 education landscape in Wales. His session will examine the current learning environment for young people through the lens of Jobs Growth Wales Plus, offering a detailed look at how the education and training ecosystem is evolving. He will also reflect on what these developments mean for the future of employability, and how Wales can best prepare its young people for the demands of a changing workforce.
He joins a distinguished line-up of speakers already announced for the event. Angharad Lloyd Beynon, Wales Policy and Stakeholder Manager at City & Guilds, will explore the theme of collaboration across education, employment and community sectors in her session, Cymru a Chydweithio: datgloi potensial gyda’n gilydd – Collaboration and Cymru: Unlocking Potential Together. Her work has been instrumental in shaping a skills-led approach to the future of work in Wales.
Also speaking will be David Heath from the Welsh Government, who leads the Plan for Employability and Skills in Wales and the Young Person’s Guarantee. David will provide an update on the Welsh Government’s progress and vision in these critical areas, offering attendees valuable context and strategic perspective.
This event, held at the iconic Principality Stadium – just minutes from Cardiff Central station – is not only a platform for learning but also a key opportunity to connect, network, and build meaningful partnerships within the Employability Sector. Sponsors Ian Benbow FIEP, Director of Case-UK, and Rhys Morris FIEP, Managing Director of The Busy Group, will also be attending with several colleagues, contributing further to the collaborative spirit of the day.
The event is free for IEP Members, and a limited number of complimentary tickets are also available for non-members working in the Welsh Employability Sector. Please contact us if you would like to apply.
We will be hosting a casual dinner afterwards at nearby restaurant Aura. More details can be found at this link
