The IEP Summit 2025, headline-sponsored by City & Guilds, is set to be a pivotal event for the Employability Sector, bringing together industry leaders, experts and stakeholders to discuss ‘Employability in a Changing Landscape’. We are delighted to reveal our first speaker in the Summit lineup is Dr Nina Jörden, a renowned Research Associate at the Bennett Institute for Public Policy at the University of Cambridge. With an impressive portfolio of research and collaboration, Dr Jörden’s insights will be invaluable in addressing pressing issues in workforce productivity and sustainable employment.
Dr Jörden’s work primarily focuses on the UK’s productivity slowdown, examining how management practices, technological advancements, and mental wellbeing intersect to promote sustainable economic growth. She is also affiliated with The Productivity Institute, Cambridge Public Health, and the Working Time Reduction Research Network, reflecting her commitment to interdisciplinary research that informs policy and practice.
Her extensive collaborations include working with global corporations such as KPMG, SAP, and Roche to enhance decision-making processes. She has also played a crucial role in governmental initiatives, notably supporting the UK Cabinet Office in improving information-sharing protocols among emergency services during the COVID-19 pandemic. One of her most groundbreaking contributions has been leading the UK’s first four-day workweek trial in the public sector in partnership with South Cambridgeshire District Council. This initiative has provided valuable insights into work-life balance, productivity, and employee well-being, influencing policy discussions on alternative work structures.
As the IEP Summit 2025 explores the theme ‘Employability in a Changing Landscape’, Dr Jörden’s expertise will be instrumental in addressing workforce challenges. Her research offers a data-driven perspective on how businesses and public institutions can implement policies that foster both productivity and employee satisfaction. Given her extensive experience with multinational corporations and government agencies, she is uniquely positioned to provide actionable strategies for employability professionals seeking to navigate an ever-evolving labour market.
This year’s Summit is poised to be the premier gathering for the sector. Set in the prestigious 116 Pall Mall, the IEP Summit 2025 will provide an exceptional setting for networking and knowledge exchange.

About City & Guilds – Our Headline Sponsor
City & Guilds will be the headline sponsor of the IEP Summit for the next three years, reinforcing their commitment to supporting skills development and workforce progression.
Patrick Craven FIEP, Executive Director of Strategic Partnerships, Policy, and Stakeholder Engagement at City & Guilds, said:
“We are delighted to be sponsoring the IEP Summit for the next three years and strengthening our partnership with the Institute of Employability Professionals. The Summit is a crucial event for those working across the employability sector, providing a space to collaborate, innovate, and address the biggest challenges facing job seekers, employers, and frontline professionals.”
“Right now, the employability landscape is evolving rapidly, influenced by shifting labour market demands, devolved government initiatives, and changing procurement and commissioning models. Meanwhile, advances in technology and AI are reshaping the way services are delivered, creating new opportunities but also raising important questions about the future of work and how we equip individuals with the skills they’ll need to thrive and progress in a technology-rich future. The IEP Summit provides a vital space for employability professionals to come together and explore these developments, ensuring we stay ahead of the challenges and continue delivering the highest quality support to those seeking employment.
“It has never been more important to recognise and promote the role of employability professionals as being the bridge between those seeking work and those looking to recruit or transition existing workforce skills. With a growing focus on NEETs, Economically Inactive, Work Returners and Career Changers plus the prospect of longer working lives, it is vital that employability development is the foundation for success.
“We share the IEP’s commitment to empowering individuals to gain skills and build their careers, and in doing so, to contribute to improving social mobility. And, having recently become a Fellow of the IEP, I’m proud to join a network of leaders focused on these shared goals, and keen to contribute to IEP’s impact in the employability space.”
