Congratulations to Employment Plus who have scooped the prestigious Gold Professional Excellence Award from the Institute for Employability Professionals (IEP).

We are only one of four organisations that have achieved this honour, which was given in recognition of our exceptional commitment to advancing professional development and striving for excellence within the employability sector.

Employment Plus offers tailored support to help people become job-ready. In mission settings, our teams often work with people who have had the most challenges to finding their way into and staying in sustainable employment.

The award we received came ahead of Employability Day on 20 June when the employability sector champions its work and looks for sustained, long-term funding for solutions that benefit communities, employers and the people we support. This year’s theme is Inactivity to Opportunity to Good Work, the essence of what we work to achieve.

Employment Plus celebrated at Territorial Headquarters

Teams at our Territorial Headquarters joined Employment Plus colleagues to celebrate the success during a celebration in the THQ atrium. There, IEP’s group chief executive, Scott Parkin, presented the Gold Professional Excellent Award to Employment Services Director Rebecca Keating.

Scott said of our work: “The Salvation Army is one of our longest-standing corporate affiliate partners, and their commitment to professional development and frontline excellence truly sets them apart. This Gold Professional Excellence Award recognises not just their high levels of engagement, but their deep-rooted dedication to supporting staff, sharing best practice and raising standards across the employability profession. Their impact, driven by champions like Rebecca Keating continues to inspire the wider IEP community.”

Rebecca added: “The Salvation Army Employment Plus is thrilled to receive this recognition from the IEP. Since its inception, we have worked together to develop sector qualifications that professionalise and acknowledge the unique and essential skills of the employability workforce. Employment Plus believes that valuing and empowering practitioners through professional development enhances our services and outcomes. The partnership between IEP, Employment Plus, and William Booth College has enabled us to deliver the IEP Employability Practitioner Qualification in-house, improving our quality standards and transforming the lives of those we support.”
