The IEP is excited to welcome Fiona Barrett FIEP to our Fellowship. Fiona is the Chief Operating Officer for Genius Within, a Community Interest Company (CIC) specialising in supporting neurodivergent adults and the organisations that work with and employ them.
Fiona has the responsibility to lead, develop and support the Senior Leadership Team and is the driving force behind their Social Justice Projects. She also specialises in leading our high-performance teams in the Employability and Criminal Justice sectors.
Her wealth of knowledge, experience and drive have resulted in the growth of the Social Justice team by four-fold. Recognising the barriers that people with disabilities face, combined with her knowledge, expertise and passion, Fiona continues to drive the company’s vision for diversity and inclusion in all sectors.
“I’m thrilled to be recognised as a Fellow of the IEP,” said Fiona. “It’s a real honour to be part of a community that shares the same passion and commitment to supporting people into meaningful work.
“Throughout my career, I’ve been driven by a deep belief in the power of employment to transform lives and provide stability and a means to thrive. Being part of the IEP means joining others who understand just how vital our work is – not just for individuals, but for families, communities, and society as a whole.
“As Chief Operating Officer at Genius Within, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside incredible teams and partners to deliver programmes that make a real difference. From local initiatives to national schemes, I’ve seen firsthand how tailored support and genuine care can unlock potential and change futures. We strive to make all workplaces inclusive.
“I look forward to collaborating with Scott Parkin FIEP and the wider IEP network to keep raising the bar, sharing best practice, and helping shape the future of our Sector.”
Fellows are active members of the IEP community and support others where they can, to drive the continued professionalisation of the Sector and be an ambassador for the IEP.
