The IEP is delighted to announce the promotion of Amy Lucas MIEP to the pivotal role of Executive Assistant to the Group Chief Executive. This role not only reflects Amy’s exceptional contributions over the past three years but also marks a significant step forward in her professional journey. As well as her EA role, Amy will continue to lead on IEP events, ensuring we maintain the high standards IEP Members and the employability sector have come to expect.

Amy has been an integral part of the IEP team since September 2021, starting as the Member Services Coordinator and just over a year later transitioning into a new role as Networking and Events Consultant which saw her relaunching our IEP Networking Events following Covid, the IEP Fellows Lecture after a 10-year hiatus, and also our continuing series of Fellows Dinners across the UK. “This role also allowed me to work on our IEP Summit and launch IEP Basecamp in 2023,” Amy says.

“As of February 2025, I am now starting as Executive Assistant to the Group Chief Executive. Each new role within the IEP has taught me so much, and it is amazing to get to grow professionally with such a wonderful organisation.”

Amy’s promotion is a fantastic example of the IEP’s talent development and our commitment to valuing professional growth within the organisation.

“The Executive Assistant role highlights where Amy has got to in her career and is a significant step forward,” says IEP Group CEO Scott Parkin FIEP. “It reflects her deep understanding of our organisation, our people, her outstanding organisational skills, and her well-established reputation within the team and sector alike.”

Amy says she is eager to embrace fresh opportunities as she steps into her new role.

“I am really excited about the opportunities to learn and continue to grow within the IEP. I am also looking forward to tackling new challenges, continuing to work with Scott Parkin FIEP and the fantastic team, as well as continuing to work on our events in a management capacity. I am excited to get stuck in and see where this new opportunity takes me.”

While the role includes administrative elements, Scott Parkin FIEP says it extends far beyond that.

“It really is the ‘glue’ that holds everything in the IEP together. It is a critical role within any organisation and forms part of the IEP Management Team, making sure SLT and I have all that we need to be efficient and effective for both the team and our members by holding the ‘reins’ of all requirements of the business at home and overseas,” Scott says.

Amy’s event management journey is filled with achievements, but two stand out.

“I am proud of everything I have achieved with IEP events, but I think there are two key moments – and these are in no particular order,” she says.

“The first being our recent award win at the Association Success Awards 2024 with IEP Basecamp winning best new event. IEP Basecamp is such an important and unique event to our sector, allowing frontline sector staff to gain practical takeaways that can be applied in their day-to-day roles whilst networking with peers.

“The second proudest moment is the launch of IEP Basecamp in 2023. So much work went into this, within the IEP team and our headline sponsors Ingeus, to make the event a success. Seeing it all come together on the day, and seeing the event being enjoyed so much by those who attended, made me really proud to be a part of it.”

Looking ahead, Amy aims to deepen her expertise in her new role, support the IEP team, and continue driving the success of IEP events.

“Over the next 3 years, I want to develop in my role as Executive Assistant, while continuing to support the team and grow professionally. I am keen to learn as much as I can in this new position. In terms of events, I would like to continue to contribute to their ongoing success and hope to launch some new events both within the UK and internationally. Watch this space…”

“We are excited to see Amy thrive in her new role and continue to inspire those around her,” says Scott. “Congratulations, Amy, on this well-deserved achievement!”

To support Amy in this exciting new chapter, the IEP will soon be recruiting an Events Coordinator to work under her guidance, further strengthening our capacity to deliver outstanding events for the employability sector.
