Across the sector there is increasing focus on how we better align skills and employability, ensuring learners not only gain qualifications but also develop the confidence, behaviours and workplace understanding needed to succeed in work.

Technical skills are essential but many people still struggle to move into or sustain employment because they lack the communication, confidence and workplace behaviours employers expect.

This is where the connection between skills provision and employability support becomes critical.

John Hamilton, Head of Business Development at Gateway Qualifications, will join our second L&D Collective as a guest speaker, focusing on inclusion in practice and exploring how providers can move beyond theory to embed inclusive approaches across learning and delivery.

Drawing on current Ofsted priorities, he will break down what inclusion really means in today’s context, from flexibility in curriculum and assessment to the development of tailored learner pathways and more structural, learner-centred design. John will also share practical examples from colleges and independent training providers, highlighting how inclusive approaches are being successfully embedded into teaching, assessment and organisational culture to better support diverse learners.
