Following International Women’s Day this weekend, it feels like a good moment to reflect on something that quietly shapes the Institute of Employability Professionals…
The IEP is a female-led organisation.
Our Board is chaired by Pat Russell FIEP, and across our leadership and management team the majority of roles are held by women. Across the wider IEP team, women play a central role in shaping our work – from professional learning and events to research, partnerships and member support.
This hasn’t happened because of targets or policies. It’s simply the result of talented women building their careers in employability and stepping forward to lead.
Every day we see the impact of that leadership across the profession. Women designing programmes that support people into work. Women mentoring colleagues and developing future leaders. Women creating the learning and professional standards that help our sector grow.
The Employability profession exists to create opportunity. It feels right that the organisation representing it reflects the talent, commitment and leadership of the people working within it.
To all the women across the IEP community – practitioners, leaders, partners and members – thank you for the work you do every day to support others to move forward.
And because International Women’s Day is also about learning from one another, we’re hosting a community conversation this week: “Women Lifting Women: Supporting Mums in the Community.”
Join Liz Sewell FIEP and Jane Knight FIEP as they explore how Employability practitioners can help mothers rebuild confidence, recognise their skills and reconnect with work.
