The Institute of Employability Professionals (IEP) is seeking sector support to undertake a full revision of the Level 4 Employability Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard (ST0663).
Our aim is to ensure the standard reflects the realities of modern employability practice and should be inclusive for all types of employment support and employability programmes, including learning organisations, equipping apprentices with the tools and approaches needed to address today’s challenges across the sector.
Several of our partners have indicated that the standard in its current form has lacked uptake due to several factors, including unnecessary complexity and lack of clarity regarding delivery.
Therefore, a full and considered revision would be hugely beneficial. By strengthening the structure, removing duplication, and ensuring the standard is aligned. This will collectively help to promote clarity, support quality, and better support organisations across the whole landscape.
Stakeholder support is vital We are inviting employers, training providers and organisations delivering employability or apprenticeship programmes to endorse the full review.
Submit your endorsement at this short form here (no longer than 3 minutes to complete) before Friday 17th April 2026: https://app.smartsheet.eu/b/form/019d0b3c0a9a7fc8ba0a6a10344dff3b
Endorsements should include your name, organisation and a short reason for support. Organisations can also express interest in contributing to the review process.
If you are a provider or delivery organisation, we encourage you to share this with employer partners in your network who may wish to support the review.
Please note: we are particularly seeking support from organisations operating in England.
