IEP New Accredited Sector Induction

Login to the Learning Management System here

The IEP Accredited Sector Induction is a brand new accredited programme of learning exclusively for our IEP Members and Corporate Affiliate Partners, developed in partnership with sector leaders from Seetec Pluss and alongside our LMS provider 2Simply Learn.

The IEP Accredited Sector Induction is the culmination of 12 months’ work and offers a unique opportunity for employability practitioners to undertake a series of informative modules that will provide solid sector knowledge and advice on how to practice in the employability sector. The Sector Induction has been designed with new starters in mind, to help them develop the skills they need more quickly, but will also serve as an ideal refresher for practitioners who may not have received a formal sector induction or are looking to improve their overall knowledge to support people better.

The first 4 modules in the series is available from today via a secure login at our new state of the art Learning Management System (LMS). Login to the LMS system here

These first 4 modules focus on the following topics:

1.     Introduction to the sector – the history and role of the sector, who are the key stakeholders and what are the main roles and responsibilities of an employability practitioner.

2.     The participant journey – what does a participant journey look like and what support is on offer.

3.     Participants and their barriers - digging down on typical barriers that we see across practitioner caseloads and how to support tackling them.

4. Caseload Management - Explore and understand how frameworks and working models can support Practitioners to achieve their targets in key activity areas while supporting their participants through excellence of service and relevant and appropriate support to reach sustainable outcomes.

We will be issuing a brand new module every 2 weeks and on successful completion of the full 18 modules practitioners will receive an IEP Accredited Certificate and 10 points to add to their CPD log for every module successfully completed.

Our multi-use platform LMS has been specially designed by our partners 2SimplyLearn to be accessed remotely, on mobile devices as well as on desktops, to facilitate learning on the move.  Practitioners can fit their learning around their day-to-day activities, completing modules in their own time and at their own pace by simply logging in via the IEP website. Each module takes approximately 30-60 minutes to complete with the full programme offering an average of 15 hours of learning overall.

Scott Parkin FIEP, Chief Executive at IEP said “Seetec Pluss have taken a lead in the development of the new Sector Induction and the IEP were delighted to continue this mutual partnership following our endorsement of their Work and Health Programme induction programme a few years ago. Seetec Pluss were keen to be involved in the development of this Sector Induction due to their recognition that there is a need for learning at this level across the employability sector and we are grateful for their commitment, advice, knowledge and guidance. Given the challenges that we all face at this time and the massive growth in Practitioner numbers expected over the coming year this Sector Induction is a timely addition to the suite of learning and qualifications available through the IEP.

We are also incredibly thankful to 2SimplyLearn for the design and implementation of our new LMS and the high quality of their specialist advice and support.  We are looking forward to working with them on launching the remainder of the modules and lots of other great learning opportunities”.

Stewart Holdsworth MIEP, Head of Strategic Partnerships at Seetec Pluss said “We are delighted to be working with the IEP to develop the new IEP Accredited Sector Induction . In times of increasing unemployment and with a record 58% fall in job vacancies, it is more important now than ever to have the brightest and best frontline staff to help rebuild our workforces across the country. With more people needing help to get back into work, we expect to see many new Employability Practitoners join the sector and it is vital to have a benchmark of good practice so they can operate at their best from day one. Our Employability Practictioners are critical to empowering people to rebuild their lives and to getting our economy back on track. This new Sector Induction will give them the tools they need to do just that.”

Emma Williams, Business Partner at 2Simply Learn said “At 2SimplyLearn we are pleased to be drawing upon our combined 20+ years of Employability Sector Frontline and L&D experience to work in partnership with the outstanding teams at the IEP & Seetec Pluss on the design, development and launch of this unique, Sector Induction.
