The Digital Technology Conference, ‘Employability in a Digital World’, took place on 16th and 17th September 2020.  Our first fully online event, the Conference was for anyone currently working in employability and skills or interested in joining our sector. Our expert speakers and responders delivered a programme packed full of practical advice and insights around the challenges and opportunities of digital technology in a changing landscape.

Speaking of the event Steve Thorpe MIEP of Headline sponsors CogniSoft said;
When we first spoke to the Institute of Employability Professionals (IEP) some months ago about what you (members) were saying about the challenges ahead for the employability sector, a number of key themes were emerging. What kind of programmes will be commissioned, how are we going to cope with the unprecedented volumes of jobseekers and the likely shortfall in supply in the jobs market, to name but a few.

It became clear to us that as a long-standing supporter of the IEP and the sector as a whole, and experts in the technology space, CogniSoft and other technology partners, could add real value to the debate.

After a lot of hard work and creativity, from the team at the IEP and a variety of contributors, the inaugural IEP Digital Technology Conference was held on the 16th & 17th September 2020. This virtual conference set out to inform, raise debate and provide solutions around ‘Employability in a Digital World’ and we believe that it achieved this and much more.

CogniSoft would just like to say a few thank you’s; firstly, to our friends at the IEP for their energy, patience and hard graft to get this project over the line; secondly to all of the contributors for creating informative and interactive sessions; and lastly to all who attended, listened and offered feedback over the two days. This event was, in our humble opinion, authentic delivered by and with real people with real ideas, and we hope the general view is that the sessions and overall messaging, generated & provoked much needed discussion.

Despite the theme of the conference being about technology, the single biggest takeaway for us was that whilst it is imperative that your processes are robust and understood by all, and that the use of technology can be a really good thing, it is the People more than anything else, who will be at the heart of this recovery.

Thanks again for being part of this event and for making your valued contributions to the discussion. I hope that we will see you at next years conference.
