Getting on Top of Unemployment with Aptem Employ

The Aptem team is delighted to have joined the IEP as Corporate Affiliate Partners. Here we describe how, with technology and innovation enthusiasm, we can help get the UK back to work.

Covid-19 has changed everything. Lives have been lost, our economy has been ravaged, and millions of highly employable individuals face losing their jobs. Unemployment benefit claims rose by 70% in April, and worse may be to come.

So as a sector dedicated to employability, how can we help? Put simply, we need to mobilise all the skills and tools at our disposal – working out ways we can, affordably and at scale, provide the support that is required.

Using the best technologies is critical. Aptem Employ is a technological sophisticated, ready-to-go job search and eLearning platform to help anyone – companies or individuals – harness the best tools and resources to find work.

Aptem is a Software as a Service (SaaS) technology platform with deep roots in the employability sector. The company started in 2009 with a platform – then called MyWorkSearch - to help those losing their job in the financial crisis secure re-employment.

We were extremely successful. We were the largest provider to the Department for Work and Pension’s Support for Newly Unemployed Professionals scheme, with over 22,500 jobseekers enrolled. Working with numerous employability providers in the UK and Australia and supporting tens of thousands of jobseekers, we unequivocally demonstrated that Aptem made a massive difference. Jobseekers secured employment 50% faster overall, and by 90 days were over three times more likely to have found work.

In what was great news for the UK economy, unemployment shrank, so we diversified into the vocational training sector. Aptem is now one of the leading apprenticeship and AEB platforms in that market.

Most advisors are familiar with case management software. Aptem Employ is several generations ahead of this. Of course, you need to log, track and report interactions with job seekers. But so much more is possible.

Aptem Employ has multiple portals that all interact with the same database. We have:

  • A job seeker portal that enables job search, CV and eCV building, assessment, training delivery, receipt of guidance and activity management.
  • A coach portal that enables active support, monitoring and interaction with the job seeker, and case management.
  • An operations portal that enables contract configuration, activity and progress reporting, as well as compliance.
  • An employer portal that enables vacancies to be uploaded and applicants managed.
  • A full learning management system, AEB support, contractual compliance, dashboard reporting and data-driven nudges.

Aptem Employ portals work as one seamless whole, and together they help speed the journey back into employment.

The Aptem team are delighted to have joined IEP, and we are keen to understand further professionals' pain points and how our technology and innovations can help.  Do get in touch with us by email at adamg@mwstecnology.com or call on 07720 085580.

We look forward to becoming an active member and an essential part of the national employability conversation.
