Tameside Careers and Apprenticeships Exhibition 2019 - #TCAE2019- Invitation

Tameside Council’s Employment and Skills Team would like to invite you to exhibit at the Tameside Careers and Apprenticeships Exhibition 2019 - #TCAE2019. This event is sponsored by Tameside Council, Tameside College, Clarendon Sixth Form College and Ashton Sixth Form College.

For those who may have supported previously, you will understand and appreciate the importance and value this event brings to our local pupils. As this event continues to grow in reputation amongst schools and pupils, it will be great to have new and familiar faces involved again this year!

The event targets all Year 9 and 10 pupils and is designed to raise their awareness of various careers, education and training pathways in a fun and engaging way through ‘have a go’ activities. Tameside Council seeks to support schools in delivery of CEIAG and the Careers & Apprenticeship Exhibition is a great opportunity to do this.

 The benefits of participating are:

  •  We are expecting over 1,000 pupils to be in attendance
  • You can support our schools Careers Programmes and allow them to provide valuable evidence for Ofsted
  • Exposure to pupil’s seeking providers of further and higher education for both traditional and apprenticeship pathways
  • Over 90% of pupils find the event ‘useful’
  • Provides an opportunity for you to build lasting relationships with schools

We would like all pupils to have the opportunity to choose the right pathway for them and understand, in many subjects, they can be educated to degree level irrespective of the route they take.

Last year’s event was very successful with around 1,000 Tameside pupils aged 14-16 visiting Stalybridge Civic Hall. The feedback over the past few years has been consistently positive with 90% of pupils wanting to attend future Careers and Apprenticeship Exhibitions and 91% finding the event ‘useful’.  We aim for the 2019 event to have a mixture of learning providers and businesses promoting various roles in a wide range of subjects and industries. We would also like you to demonstrate a number of interactive ‘have a go’ experiences / demonstrations for the pupils to engage in which is a continuing theme from previous years.

Businesses are key to quality CEIAG and this event provides a great opportunity for local businesses to engage with schools and develop bespoke pathways for pupils.  The practical activities with employers and providers will also compliment school careers evenings, mock interviews and industry days.

Our aim is to increase school participation of the exhibition each year and provide a high quality, engaging event so that pupils can take away substantial knowledge on their future options. We have provided the total school and pupil attendance figures from the previous 3 years:
