We are pleased to welcome Christian Morris AIEP to the IEP team as Learning and Projects Consultant.
Christian has worked in Employability for 34 years and saw the opportunity to work with the IEP as a way to really make a difference to everyday employability practice.
“Having seen the Sector continually change and re-invent itself, there isn’t much that I haven’t experienced from an L&D perspective, and I believe that my years of experience as a Practitioner and L&D Professional will make a real difference to the learners that I work with,” said Christian.
He is currently working on the design and delivery of the Certificate in Individual Placement and Support (Cert IPS) which is the first recognised qualification of its type and developed by the IEP in collaboration with IPS Grow.
“The qualification recognises the work that Employability Specialists undertake every day within the NHS, supporting clients with mental health challenges back into sustainable employment. It’s a new sector for me to work with, which is exciting, but the learning curve is steep in terms of understanding the principles and practices of how IPS is delivered effectively.
“Outside of work, I’m a massive Liverpool fan, and manage to get to watch them a few times a season, I’m an avid darts player and captain my local team, and this year – I competed in a Latin American Dance Formation Team in Stoke (we are a senior team by the way!) and am looking forward to competing in November on the legendary dancefloor of the Winter Gardens in Blackpool. I’m no John Travolta, but I’m learning!”
