Ingeus is currently leading the frontier in developing their people in preparing for the new service delivery model Connect to work. They are piloting the IEP Connect to Work pathway, aimed at enhancing the skills of employability practitioners to better support participants with significant and complex needs in their journey to work while adhering to the principles and practices of IPS (Individual Placement Support). This pilot includes several key components:
- IPS and Trauma-Informed Practice Sessions: These initial sessions focus on Individual Placement and Support (IPS) and trauma-informed practices, helping practitioners understand and address the barriers faced by participants
- Award in Motivational Interviewing: This qualification equips practitioners with techniques to build trust, address ambivalence, and encourage positive change through empathy-driven methods
- Award in Employability Integration for IPS: This new qualification helps practitioners adapt their existing skills to deliver IPS-aligned services, focusing on fidelity, clinical integration, caseload management, and employer engagement
- Coaching for Growth: The final qualification in the pathway, Coaching for Growth, aims to develop coaching techniques that empower participants and guide them effectively towards their employment goals
Aim of the Pilot: The primary goal is to enhance the confidence and capability of practitioners in supporting participants directly linked to the new Connect to Work service delivery launched this spring by the UK government. These can be significant needs such as physical disabilities, neurodiversity, mental health conditions, learning difficulties, as well as traditional complex needs that represent some of the most vulnerable groups in our society, ensuring they are well-equipped to deliver high-quality, IPS-aligned services.
Importance of the Program: By the end of the pilot, practitioners will feel better equipped and more confident in their ability to support participants, ultimately leading to improved employment outcomes and sustained work placements for those facing significant barriers.
Number of People Involved: The pilot involves a cohort of 21 employability practitioners who are undergoing these comprehensive training sessions and qualifications.
