This important publication, guest edited by internationally recognised employment expert Miguel Peromingo, explores the critical role employability services play in helping individuals rebuild their lives after release.
Mark Your Calendar – Launch Webinar on 30th April
IEP Journal 14 will be officially launched at a webinar on 30th April at 9am [GMT], where guest editor Miguel Peromingo will guide attendees through key insights, successful strategies and global case studies on supporting justice-impacted individuals. The event will also feature contributions from Adecco, sharing international examples of inclusive employment initiatives, and the Lithuanian Public Employment Service, highlighting effective national programmes designed to reintegrate former prisoners into the workforce.
A Theme Rooted in Transformation and Second Chances
At the heart of Journal 14 lies a powerful message: employment can be a cornerstone of reintegration and a pathway to freedom. As Miguel explains, “This edition focuses on the support to people released from prison and how integration into the labour market can help them take an active part in society instead of reoffending.”
Spanning real-world examples from the UK, Australia, Lithuania, Belgium, France, Spain, the USA and the Netherlands, the journal provides a rich exploration of how holistic, human-centred employability services – ranging from in-prison training to employer engagement – can change lives and benefit communities.
Meet the Contributors
Joining Miguel in this special edition are esteemed contributors from across Europe:
- Inga Balnanosienė, Director of the Public Employment Service in Lithuania, bringing expertise in public policy and inclusive labour market initiatives.
- Menno Bart, Head of Policy Advocacy at the Adecco Group, sharing insights on labour mobility and the impact of digital and green transitions on workforce inclusion.
- Bruce Roch, Head of Inclusion and Diversity at Adecco, highlighting strategies for fostering diverse and equitable employment ecosystems.
A Platform for Innovation, Partnership and Progress
Miguel’s motivation for guest editing this edition stems from a desire to spotlight an often overlooked group. “Returning citizens are an under-served group because of societal bias, but also because there is a lack of information around what employability services could do to help,” he notes. “I want to raise awareness on the good work that is already being done and encourage collaboration among employers, employment services, training providers, prison staff, policymakers and returning citizens themselves.”
IEP Journal 14 is more than just a publication – it’s a call to action. Through thoughtful analysis, real-life stories and practical recommendations, it challenges employability professionals to step up, think differently and support justice-impacted individuals on their journey toward lasting reintegration.
