This week we are delighted to share the story of Kenan Ek FIEP, Business Unit Director at Job By Instep AB.

What is your job title and organisation, and what are your main job responsibilities?

I am the Business Unit Director at Job By Instep AB. My main responsibilities include overseeing operations across multiple offices, ensuring the quality and effectiveness of our employability programs, leading strategic development, and driving continuous improvement within the organisation. I also work closely with our teams to enhance job-matching efforts and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders.

What motivated you to join the IEP?

I joined the IEP because I wanted to be part of a professional network dedicated to raising the standards of employability services. The opportunity to learn, collaborate, and share best practice with industry experts was a key motivation for me. I also wanted to gain deeper insights into international approaches to employment support and bring those perspectives into my organisation.

What learning programs have you completed with the IEP and/or what learning are you currently doing with the IEP?

I have engaged in various IEP learning opportunities, including professional development courses and discussions on employability strategies. My focus has been on learning innovative and effective methods to support job seekers and employers in a rapidly changing labour market.

Can you share some examples of how the skills you’ve gained from the IEP have been valuable in your work?

The knowledge and insights gained from IEP learning have been incredibly beneficial in my role. One key takeaway has been the importance of data-driven decision-making in employability programs. By applying these insights, we have improved our ability to track progress, measure outcomes, and adapt our services to better meet the needs of job seekers. Additionally, learning about AI and digital solutions in employability has helped us integrate more efficient job-matching strategies.

Has your journey with IEP learning helped you learn things about yourself? If so, how?

Absolutely! My journey with IEP has reinforced the importance of continuous learning and adaptability. It has also helped me refine my leadership approach, particularly in managing change and fostering innovation within my organisation. Through IEP, I have gained a broader international perspective on employability, which has been invaluable in shaping our strategies.

What support were the IEP team able to give you as a learner?

The IEP team has been incredibly supportive, providing access to valuable resources, learning materials, and networking opportunities. Their guidance has made the learning process seamless, and they are always available to answer questions or provide additional insights.

What would you say to someone considering enrolling in IEP learning?

I would highly recommend it! IEP learning provides practical, high-quality training that is directly applicable to our work. Whether you are new to the field or an experienced professional, the courses and networking opportunities will enhance your skills, expand your knowledge, and help you stay ahead in the evolving employability sector.

Anything else you would like to add?

I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of the IEP community and to contribute to the field of employability. I look forward to continuing my journey with IEP and collaborating with fellow professionals to drive positive change in the sector.
