This week marks a major milestone for the IEP — the 450th edition of Employability Professional (EP), our flagship eNewsletter for the employability sector.
When we look back at where it all began, it’s clear just how far we’ve come. The very first hard copy of EP landed back in October 2015. In that launch edition, we introduced readers to frontline perspectives, expert advice, and sector insights — a format that has stood the test of time. Articles included interviews with practitioners like Billie Hunt of the Royal British Legion Industries, and thought leadership from experts such as Christopher Stacey of Unlock, both of whom were sharing practical guidance to help professionals support people into sustainable work.
Since then, EP has grown into a trusted fortnightly digital newsletter, reaching thousands of employability professionals across the UK and around the world. Each edition has stayed true to the original purpose:
- Showcasing best practice from across the sector
- Sharing tools, ideas, and expertise from leaders and frontline staff alike
- Highlighting innovation and collaboration that makes a difference to people’s working lives
Over the past ten years, the sector has changed dramatically — from the introduction of new employability programs and digital innovations to the global challenges of a pandemic and the rapid rise of AI. Through it all, EP has remained a consistent voice, reflecting the resilience, creativity, and dedication of employability professionals everywhere.
As we celebrate this 450th edition, we want to thank all the contributors, sponsors, and readers who have made EP what it is today. Your insights, experiences, and support have helped shape a publication that not only informs but inspires.
