A long career in social services makes Angela Connors FIEP a valuable addition to our collective of Fellows here at IEP Australia.

With leadership experience in consultancy, government and not-for-profit organisations, Angela brings a range of expertise to IEP Australia and the employability sector as a whole.

“Most of my career has been focussed on supporting people who have many challenges and complexities that can often define them or are seen as barriers to success,” she says.

“My passion has always been to focus on a person’s strengths so they can build confidence capability to pursue their ambitions.

“I have worked with people with a disability and psychosocial disability, children and families engaged in the child protection and out of home care services, domestic and family violence sector, housing and homelessness sectors.”

Angela has committed to an IEP Australia fellowship at the same time she is overseeing the development of the Centre for Delivering Employability Excellence in Practice in Australia.

The CDEEP is a strategic collaboration between Asuria and the IEP to enhance employability outcomes using best practice approaches, as evidenced from both national and international research.

“I wanted to become a fellow to be part of a strong collective of like-minded professionals who add value to the employability sector by sharing expertise and knowledge from a variety of experiences, focussing on improving outcomes for people seeking employment and prosecuting ways to improve the service system as a whole.”

Away from work, Angela likes to play bridge, and volunteers to help young people practice driving to get their license.

“I live in Melbourne now, but I’m a country girl at heart.

“I love, love, love to travel anywhere!”

We are thrilled to have Angela on board, lending her expertise to fellow industry leaders around the country, supporting a better skilled and more collegiate employability sector here in Australia.
