Join us to discuss our Employability Apprenticeship Trailblazers

We will be holding a second meeting on this important topic where we expect to agree the principles for development, following our excellent discussion at the end of March (view the notes here), and to start to develop the standards. This meeting is on Thursday 11th May and will be hosted by Salvation Army Employment Plus in London.

As many of you will already know, next month sees the implementation of the Government’s Apprenticeship Levy.  If you have already begun the process of mapping the current standards and frameworks to your organisational training needs, you may have noticed that there are some gaps in provision.

In many other sectors, working groups have been formed to consider the future needs of the workforce and to determine how new standards can be developed (Trailblazers) in order that organisations can use apprenticeships to support the delivery of those needs.

Having spoken to many of you and following our first meeting,I am convinced that thereis an appetite for us to work together, acrossour sector, to discuss our needs and to develop ideas on what 'Apprenticeship Trailblazers' we wish to develop.Manyof you may already be part of one of these groupswithin other sectors, where your organisation has a commercial interest, for example there is an apprenticeship development group in Probation.
In line with the IEP’s commitment to knowledge, learning and best practice sharing we are looking tobetter understand the synergies in the skills and capabilities across other sectors so that when developing our ideas, we can ensure that the standards we develop facilitate vertical and horizontal career progression pathways. The IEP is central to the development of these standards and we are genuinely excited about the possibilities.
