EmployabilityUK approaches its 10th anniversary on 23rd December and will be moving away from day-to day delivery – into a natural space of advising on ESG and assisting organisations as they navigate the challenges of the Procurement Act, early next year.

They are looking to strengthen their Trustee Board and have a number of voluntary opportunities available, which they would like, in the first instance, to offer to members of the IEP. All roles require proactive individuals, that are committed to the charity’s values and a willingness to have an active involvement in our work.

1. Vice Chair: To take a lead role in promoting the work of the charity, provide support for the Chair and Secretary and share ideas for opportunities for growth. This role would suit someone with experience of operating at a senior level and someone with a strong network.

2. A Treasurer: To lead on our income generation, develop our financial strategy and advise on areas of potential growth. This role would suit someone with a financial background, with a broad understanding of charity finance and again, a strong network.

3. A Trustee: To lead on our educational direction, providing insight in to government priorities and advising on strategic education-related priorities. This role would be ideal for someone who is currently working in the sector, with an understanding of current frameworks, and interested in curriculum reform.

4. A Clerk: This role is crucial to the smooth-running of the Board. Providing admin support, assistance with planning and executing meetings and ensuring full support is provided to the Chair and Secretary to fulfil governance requirements. The person must have good organisation skills, meticulous attention to detail and be proactive in ensuring Board members fulfil their obligations.

The Board meets 3-4 times per year, usually online for 2 hours. Face to face meetings will typically happen in the summer and take place in central Birmingham.
