Personal and Professional Development

Attend your Industry Conferences for FREE

Conferences provide a great opportunity to meet with colleagues, peers and professionals in your sector to talk about the issues you face in your day to day role.  They also give you the chance to hear from leaders and specialists in their field and experts in other sectors and get first-hand knowledge about what is happening in your profession.

To help our members, who may not ordinarily get the opportunity to attend such events, we are giving away a limited number of FREE delegate places, these are available to all IEP Members and we call these Bursaries.

Building our member’s skills and knowledge and helping you to deliver better outcomes for your customers is central to the IEP’s purpose and we hope you will take advantage of this offer.

We currently have free delegate places available for the IEP/ERSA Working Towards Better Mental Health Conference being held in Birmingham on 26th June and the IntoWork Convention on 5th/6th July in London.

Applying for a FREE place couldn’t be easier.  All you need to do is:

1.     Send an email to enquiries@iemployability.org answering the question “Why I should attend the conference and how this will benefit my professional development’ (no more than 500 words)

2.     Specify which conference you are interested in attending

3.     Include your full name, job title, employer’s name, email address, contact phone number and IEP designation (AIEP or MIEP)

And that’s it!

Here’s some comments from recent bursary winners:

'I received a bursary from IEP and ERSA to attend the MHFA Lite training. This training has given me greater insight into the different types of mental illness and their symptoms and affect. Having a greater awareness has enabled me to support a large number of my residents with the barriers they are facing. I am able to signpost to the right agencies to work in partnership to enable everyone to get the best outcome from engaging.’

Jacqui Jones, Employment and Training Coordinator, The Barnet Group (Incorporating Barnet Homes and Your Choice Barnet)

‘The whole reason I applied for the Work In Progress 2017 bursary was because I wanted to know more and improve within my role…The conference really has contributed toward my professional development.  I feel I have a head start on the Work and Health Programme and the Apprenticeship Levy. I have made links with some organisations across the UK doing some really great things in employability and engagement, and at the very least it has shown my organisation that I do care about my role and doing the best I can.’

Stephanie Palmer-Odeh MIEP, Employment Consultant with Seetec in Ipswich

‘I went up to the event with an open mind about what I would learn and take from it and I was not disappointed.  To be sat in a room with so many professionals was an amazing opportunity for me and one that I would love to repeat.  As well as learning from the speakers and the hosts of the Talking Tables, I found the networking with industry specialists was one of the highlights of the day.’

Sam Everard AIEP, CEO of the Samee Project in Bournemouth

If this sounds good to you, don’t hesitate – send us your submission today!

Terms & Conditions:

The Bursary is open to any current AIEP or MIEP (Fellows are excluded). Late entries will not be considered. Entries will be judged by a panel from the IEP and ERSA. All entrants will be notified of the outcome of the competition as soon after the closing date as possible. The panel’s decision will be final, and no correspondence regarding the outcome will be considered. Bursaries must be taken by the winning entrants, and are non-transferable. No alternate prize / cash alternative is available. The Bursary excludes travel to and from the conference venue, the cost of which will need to be covered by the winners, or their employers.
